The Ministry of Health (MOH) says some three thousand two hundred and ninety four (3,294) Nurses and Allied Health Professionals who completed various programmes in 2013 and 2014 have been given Financial Clearance to be employed into health sector.
The announcement, contained in a statement issued Thursday, comes in the wake of agitations by the affected trainees who picketed at state institutions to demand their immediate engagement.
The MOH statement signed by Tony Goodman, Head of Public Relations at the Health Ministry, listed the categories of people to be engaged are as follows:

“These are the verified list from the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and the Allied Health Professionals Council to enable the Ministry of Health augment the staffing positions of various health facilities.
“All facilities are to ensure that, staff to be engaged have their documents processed early and placed on the Mechanized Payroll to enable the Controller and Accountant –General’s Department effect payment of their salaries in time to reduce the incidence of arrears to be paid to staff”, it said, adding that a letter from the Ministry of Finance had requested the Controller and Accountant-General to effect the payment of their salaries.
