After 17 years as husband and wife, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith are getting divorced, a new report by Radar Online claims.
“For Will and Jada, holding it together these past few years has been tough because their marriage has been on life support for a long time,” an insider says.
The insider continues, “They’re exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union.
They’ve decided to pull the plug in a carefully choreographed manner, [and] agree announcing their split at the end of the summer is the right move.”
Will, 46, and Jada, 43 — who are parents to 17-year-old Jaden and 14-year-old Willow — are reportedly in the process of working out a settlement that will protect their combined $240 million fortune.
Earlier this summer, the couple shocked fans when the Magic Mike XXL actress hinted at her “open marriage” during an interview with Howard Stern.
“You gotta trust who you’re with, and at the end of the day, I’m not here to be anybody’s watcher,” she said.
“I’m not his watcher. He’s a grown man. I trust that Will is a man of integrity. He’s got all the freedom in the world, and as long as Will can look at himself in the mirror and be okay, I’m good.”
