Stop Selling Our Lands Illegally-Nii Odai Ntow Family Warns Atomic Boss

Nii Odai Ntow family owners of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Lands has warned the Director General of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Professor B.J.B Nyarko to desist from selling, leasing their lands to estate developers and investors illegally.

On the 3rd July, 1973 the then government of Ghana Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah acquired portions of kwabenya lands as Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Facility for the construction of an Atomic Bomb Rector.

He formerly acquired the land with an executive instrument(EI 73/75) state lands acquisition kwabenya site here in Accra.

Speaking to Mr Moses Tawiah Aryee the head of Tetteh Afrime Family which forms part of the Nii Odai Ntow family he said that on 19th of may 1975, a chief of Ashongman by name Ernest Armah Anteh signed a statutory declaration with other principal elders of Odai Ntow family over 12,690 acres of Odai Ntow family lands being kwabenya, Agbogba, Haatso, papao, Dome, Atomic lands, musuku, and Nariman.

mr Tawiah continued to said that in 1973, the government of Ghana offered compensation to be paid to the legitimate land owners of kwabenya lands which was been acquired for the use of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission in establishing it’s reactor in which several families laid claims to the government acquisition.

And upon all these claims by the said families the Odai Ntow was adjudged winners of the Claims government’s compensation in 1975. The said compensation was duly paid to a lawyer for the Odai Ntow family in the person of Lawyer Enoch D. Kom and chief of Ashongman Ernest Armah Antes.

Mr Tawiah in his final words warned the director General of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Professor Nyarko to either selling, leasing or giving out in parcel of land in respect of all Atomic lands which was duly acquired by the then government of Ghana and to desist from such practice.
