Security analyst Irbard Ibrahim survives gas explosion

Irbard Ibrahim
Security analyst Irbard Ibrahim has been admitted at the intensive care unit of the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after surviving a near-fatal gas explosion Thursday afternoon.

In a Facebook post Friday, Irbard pleaded with the striking medical doctors and government to resolve their impasse since he is about to undergo a surgical operation at the hospital and needed a doctor.

“Just a few hours after Irbard was on radio with Brigadier General Nunoo Mensah to discuss the need for Government and doctors to resign negotiations, Irbard suffered severe burns from a gas explosion with lacerations and his face.

“‪#‎iamavictimofgmastrike‬. Irbard is about to go into intensive care and has an urgent message for Government and doctors as they hold a crunch decision -making general assembly today,” the International Relations expert wrote.

Ghanaian doctors are expected to resign en masse today following weeks of strike over government’s inability to agree on their service conditions.
