No arrest made in Tuobodom drive-by gun shots – Police

No arrest has been made so far in Wednesday’s drive-by shooting incident by unknown assailants in Tuobodom near Techiman, deputy Brong Ahafo Regional Police Commander, ACP Patrick Adusei Sarpong has said.

According to him, investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrators behind the heinous crime.

Calm, he said, has finally been restored after security operatives made up of police and military personnel secured the area.

The security capo told Kwaku Owusu Adjei in an interview on Si Mi So on Kasapa 102.3 FM Thursday that five residents lost their lives during the attack while nine others sustained various degrees of injuries.

The dead, according to him, have been identified by their family members.

He told Owusu Adjei that prior to the incident, Tuobodom was so peaceful that no one suspected any violence of such nature could erupt.

“Everybody in the town is amazed by the incident. The people were happily playing draught and suddenly they were attacked by unknown assailants,” he noted.

He said it is a well known fact that there is a chieftaincy dispute in the town but for the past two weeks, none of the parties has shown any sign of wanting to attack his fellow.

ACP Adusei Sarpong noted that for the time being all that the security operatives need from the residents is their total cooperation in the investigations they are conducting to unravel the cause of the incident and those behind it.
