Former President John Dramani Mahama has intimated that his second coming will not only offer hope to the distraught Ghanaian populace but also the best government ever.
According to him, unlike the elephant-sized government of the New Patriotic Party, he will run a lean government efficient enough to deliver the goods.
Mr Mahama said he would not run huge government machinery that would have an adverse effect on the economy thus saving money for other priorities.
Aside from that, he said he would review the constitution and curb ex-gratia.
Using the size of Akufo-Addo’s government as the yardstick, the NDC leader stated that Ghanaians should expect nothing but the best from him when he comes back in 2025.
“We want to reiterate the points made by President Mahama recently that the next NDC government will run an administration with a leaner government and far fewer ministers than Ghana has ever seen and will ensure a cut in waste and the exercise of frugality in everything government does.”
“The NDC is also committed to the implementation of a review of the 1992 constitution which should, among others, place a cap on the number of Supreme Court Justices and face the issues of Article 21 head-on.”
“The next NDC government must commit to the implementation of the review of the 1992 Constitution, which was begun by President John Evans Atta Mills, of blessed memory.
“This review should among others aim at reforming the judiciary and tackle head-on issues on ex-gratia payments and other matters of Article 71 emoluments,”
