A bailey bridge sitting on the Densu River at Ashalaja in the Ga West Municipality yesterday caved in when a tipper truck fully loaded with gravels was crossing it.
Witnesses at the scene late Tuesday evening say the driver of the tipper truck managed to escape unscathed. A passenger is however feared dead.
Scores of people who were crossing over to adjoining communities were left stranded.
The bridge is reportedly the main linkage between the people living at Ayikai Doboro and its environs and Ashalaja.
