30 Students from Burkina Institute of Technology Graduated from Zongo Business Incubator’s Accelerator Program.

Accra, Ghana – A significant milestone was achieved as the Zongo Business Incubator celebrated the successful completion of its 3-day Business Acceleration Program for 30 students from the Burkina Institute of Technology (BIT). The program, which took place from 8th to 10th August, 2023, focused on providing the relevant business knowledge base, skills and information for advancing innovative business solution in Africa.

Guided by the CEO and lead trainer of the Zongo Business Incubator; Mr. Mohammed Abdul Hamid Babangida, and guest trainer Mr. Bengal Sylla, the training model included Business ideation process, Business model for the future of work and business expansion exercises.

Co-Founder and Lead Consultant of Zongo Business Incubator, Mr. Abdulsalam Mohammed Daaru expressed appreciation during the closing session, for the hands-on involvement of startup mentors Mr. Hassan Shaban, Rev Nathaniel, and Miss Pamela, who graced the event and shared their decades of experiences with participants. He indicated that this program is a cross boarder extension of the Campus Based Business Summit; one of the flagship programs of the Zongo Business Incubator, aimed at providing practical business and entrepreneurship supports to students whiles in school.

The Zongo Business Incubator, as part of the closing session, received an official citation from the Oxygen Health Portal; one of the successful businesses being incubated by the Zongo Business Incubator. This citation is to honor the years of technical support and funding ZOBI has provided Oxygen The citation was received by Miss. Aiysha Abdallah, the project lead for the maiden Zongo Apprenticeship Support Program, which is to be launched in September 2023. She expressed her profound gratitude to Oxygen and communicated the commitment of ZOBI to supporting startups and small businesses in Zongo communities across Ghana.

Beyond knowledge, participants received certificates in recognition of their dedication. This accomplishment marks the start of their entrepreneurial journey, as they prepare for a 6-week internship in Accra; providing real-world experience to complement their training.

The Zongo Business Incubator is partnered by organizations like the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP), Youth Internship Bootcamp (YIB), Young African Leaders’ Initiative (YALI), and the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat.
