10 Listed Underground Rappers Ghanaian Should Pay Attention To In 2016

10 Listed Underground Rappers Ghanaian Should Pay Attention To In 2016 – by Blogger Nana Kesse
A lot of people are good at rapping when they take their time to write rhymes but some of those people aren’t as good off the top their head when rapping well, I’ve compiled my list of top 10 underground rappers in my eye. I listed rappers who can freestyle or battle and can rap on any beats or genres.

I listed in purpose to feature underground rappers who rap is so extraordinary; you ask yourself, why they are still underground and not getting any support or being featured on big artiste’s songs. Some of their raps far exceed that of many popular known commercial artistes but these lyrically, rhythmically, metaphorically, creatively and punchy in their rap lines are still underground. Why should this happen?

Nana Kesse as a blogger and music promoter (founder of www.nanakesse24.com); I decided to take a bold decision to take a look at underground rappers that have the great potential or prospective to ‘rap-on’ if given the right push, support and direction for their rap.

It is a sad or regrettable fact that; the music industry is so large that a lot of these great prospective talented rappers go completely unnoticed and unknown despite their undeniable talents.

With just a day for the year 2015to end, sooner or later, I am hopeful these rappers will demonstrate how more talented they are next year and beyond. These crop of young and upcoming rappers are gargantuan gifted and talented as they have shown in the few of their own songs or what they have been featured on.

Those are my picks and I’m sure it was different 10years ago and I’m sure it’ll be different nest year, but right now, those are my top 10 best underground rappers Ghana and world must look to.

The likes of Sarkodie, Yaa Pono, Dr Cryme, Criss Waddle, Pope Skinny etc were once underground rappers which they had their limetyte through Adom FM “Kasakari Level” which was then hosted by Dr. Duncan.

“Sometimes I ask myself the difference between my chosen rappers and the other rappers out there. And I think all they do is to rap and that’s the problem. I think the rap should be like you are having a conversation. It has to be free. But you have to be an addict of rap to be in that zone or level.”

My 10 list of Underground rappers Ghanaian should pay massive attention to in 2016 are Dizzy Danger, 1 Cedi, Tee Rhyme, Yung Pabi, Hotsource, Phrame, Dfizzy, Hindu, Emperaw, and Twimp.
My List Below (No Particular 0rder):

DIZZY DANGER:
Rephoenix records artiste Dizzy Danger is a phenomenon rapper, don’t know if I should add this rapper to this list because as far as I know, he’s made some hits just that they are not major.
He’s got the skill and rapport when it comes to rap. He really knows how to ride a beat. He has an ear for music and knows how to utilize it with ease. It is no surprise that he’s good at rap music. He is very creative when it comes to music, one of my favorite songs from him is “Weak Month” which is full of creativity and comic, and he featured one finest upcoming Beats Maker Spydee. He also has a way of making music stick to your mind with jargons that are repetitive.
This guy is awesome in terms of rap!!! blending twi, and pidgen, he can come up with lyrics you can’t fathom. In one of his songs, “Word” featuring Lil Shaker he flows with dynamism. Ghanaians should watch out for this rapper, “he can pull a rabbit out of a hat”.

EMPERAW:
He is known by his stage name Emperaw, the 2014 2nd runner-up of the television show, MTN Hitmaker. Emperaw is a very creative artist who can jump on any beat and bring it to live. This guy is so dope; I personally haven’t heard any of his tracks that are boring to me. He has a natural flair for rapping has put his talent into action by releasing an urban gospel rap music titled ‘Word of God’. The new single with its marvelous instrumentation was produced by Qweci King.
‘Word of God’ which talks about preaching the word of God to individuals in all parts of world has its lyrics well conveyed in a very slow rhythm communicating to the message he’s trying to put across. Little said about this man the better, if you really want to know what I’m talking about, just get a hold on one of his tracks and listen, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I remember the first time I got intact with him through a co-blogger; he made me published something about this guy. I got to listen to one of his songs “About Me” which he featured one finest rapper and sound engineer Cabum, the song was dope. From then I decided to follow every song of his or even been featured on.
This promising rapper and The Scareface Crew record label signee HotSource, finally released his anticipated debut mixtape album “The New Beginning”, with a list of 10 hot Hip-hop jams. Ghanaians need to watch for this guy, he’s seriously good when it comes to hip-hop.

TWIMP:
Sometimes I don’t get the differences between Twimp’s songs and the foreign songs, I wonder even if the LimeLyte Music Group signee is really a Ghanaian. If you listen to his style of rap, you are likely to be anticipating it’s a foreign track if you don’t really know much about him.

Few months this year he dropped another hot banger “Yete Abr3” which he featured one of the finest rappers and sound engineers Cabum and this banger has become a hotcake and terms in my community. Later he decided to try his rap style on a dancehall beat and he was on point, to believe what I’m talking about, just try searching Tee Rhyme feat Bredren B “Turn of the Light” and “Diwofie Asem” feat Koo Ntakra, you’ll know what I’m talking about. This Rapper recently dropped another hip-hop banger “Yaabaata” literally means “Spoil”; which was his last song for the year. Ghanaians need to watch for this dopiest and versatile rapper.

HINDU:
This young rapper is one of the creative artists in the industry from the #WestSide signed in Jeffick/Vybez Records. Listen to his songs and you will understand why I listed him among other underground rappers. One of his songs, which made me felt in love with his rap, was “El Classico” from then I became his number 1 fan. Very creative and nice compositional; raps in Fanti and it sounds dynamic and different from other fanti rappers; the likes of Pappy Kojo, Kinaata, TeePhlow etc. He can rap in all the genres; hiphop, Azonto, highlife, hiplife, etc. just give him the beat and he’ll immediately compose something on it right away. I call that creativity. If you follow him on social media you can testify it yourself; he has been dropping freestyle videos, which he had named it “Freestyle Friday”. Ghanaians need to watch out for him, he’s equally awesome.

I CEDI:
From the camp of Limelyte Music Group; 1 Cedi is one of best lyrical rappers in Ghana. He is a rapper I do admire him so much for his hardworking skills in this career of music. I can boldly say; he even has more good songs than some of these celebrated artists in Ghana. He is the only underground rapper with three (3) full mixtape albums and having over 50 studio recorded songs in his credit.
For some time now been quiet in terms of songs after the release of the much talked about video for his ‘Rap God’ cover tune which was originally done by his mentor Eminem. Some raised doubts as to whether he can come back relevant into the industry as his silence had been unusual of him because of his reputation of always releasing new songs in short space of time. This guy had been consistence in the rap game.
His recently song “King Agorkoli” was one talked about song in all social media platforms even when the song was not yet released. To believe what I’m saying is true, kindly search him or link to his Reverbnation platform https://www.reverbnation.com/1Cedi. Ghanaians need to watch out for him, he’s equally awesome. He is that one artist who deserves all the encouragement and support he needs to put Ghana on the map.

The ExGee Entertainment and Dope Empire Millitants rapper Dfizzy is a Ghanaian-America based versatile fante rapper in the music scene. He has been in the industry for some time now and a few of his tracks you might have heard with the recent one being “Ready Am I” which features Eugine.
With close to 18 single records to his credit and 8 others which are still being worked on, aside his upcoming album project, Dfizzy is set to wow the general public in the shortest possible time with his style of fante rap. He is really making hot steps in the music industry even as he’s based in the U.S.
He does hiphop, Azonto, highlife, hiplife, etc. just give him the beat and he’ll compose something for it right away. Ghanaians need to watch for this dopiest and versatile fante rapper.

PHRAME:
Phrame is signed rapper to a record label Trump Music Group. This guy, I first discovered his talent at Koo Ntakra’s Akuaba Tour at Akosombo. This guy can kill every beat, blends twi, English and pidgin to make sound good in your ears, he can come up with lyrics you can’t fathom. He recorded his first single “Recognize” off his Debut Extended Play (EP) #THE SAGA, of which a video was shot for. He has five (6) songs which features Fimfim, Koo Ntakra, Nuel Triumph, Tek Deep and Nii Mayweda in his credit.
His recently Afro-hiphop banger “Kapo”, the track shows his creativity, skill and maturity like no other. He’s one artist Ghanaians need to watch out for.

YUNG PABI:
Yung Pabi caught my attention a while ago & really had me convinced that he could be headed for big things.
With a style that is very reminiscent of one of Ghana‘s most valuable exports; and a youthful petulance he has come into his own and absolutely on point on any beat given to him to rap on. He is one of my controversial rappers in Ghana. His “Boga” song was dope after his collaboration with Gasmilla.
This rapper is one of the creative artists in the industry. Listen to his songs and you will understand why I said so. To believe what I’m saying is true, kindly search him or link to his Reverbnation platform https://www.reverbnation.com/younpabi. Ghanaian need to watch out for him, he’s equally awesome.
