Hallelujah!!! Peace be unto you pastor. This is Collins, the backsliding folk once again. I received your message on why I should return to church, but I want to ask, do you trust and believe in the God you serve?
You are being guarded day and night by macho men. One can hardly approach you at church without being manhandled by these well-muscled men.
Matthew 10:28 says: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Is there anyone on earth that can kill your soul aside God? Of what use are those bodyguards if they cannot stop God from killing your soul?
I wonder what you are scared of and is forcing you to parade all these gun-wielding machomen around you even during church service.
When Jacob was told that his son, Joseph was alive in Egypt, he went with his family. And the Lord spoke to him in a vision at night and said: “I am God, the God of your father, fear not to go down into Egypt, I will go with u” – Genesis 46:3. He believed in God and never went with a bodyguard aside God.
With all due respect, where is your God, pastor? Or you don’t want to walk with him, but mere human bodyguards?
Why must you have bodyguards to protect you against thy enemies when your God says he will fight for you at Deuteronomy 3:22? In case you may have forgotten that portion of the scriptures, kindly pick your Holy book and confirm what it says: “Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.” (Bible Gateway edition) You don’t believe He could?
The Supreme Being has even gone a step further at Deuteronomy 31:8 to confirm that “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged”
When Adonizedek, a king of Jerusalem implored the services of Kings of Hoham of Hebron, Piram of Jarmuth, Japhia of Lachish, and Debir of Eglon to aid him attack Gibeon because its people made peace with Joshua and the Israelites, the Lord told Joshua, “do not be afraid of them, I have already given you victory. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.” Joshua marched on with his army and captured the five Amorite Kings. (Joshua 10).
Pastor, you are the Joshua of the Gibeons and Israelites, you are to lead them to victory yet your army (bodyguards) instead of pursuing the enemy rather pursue your flock. Whom do you seek to capture, the Amorite kings or the Israelites?
You teach your followers to pray before going to bed for the Lord will protect them in the night against the principalities of the earth. Why do those bodyguards still man your house? Your God has not given you the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7) so why must you be afraid that the enemy will attack you in the night?
Oh! They protect your earthly properties? How many of your church members can afford paying for a ‘dropping’ other than ‘trotro’ yet you have acquired three beautiful cars worthy of being protected? No doubt pastor, you have been blessed. But why are you afraid of thieves? Well they say prevention is better than cure.
“So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” That’s not me speaking. It’s in the Bible and precisely Hebrews 13:6. I’m getting confused now, pastor. Collins is not getting it. Is anything or anyone bigger than the Lord?
Daniel 3:1-30 teaches us about how king Nebuchadnezzar set Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego on fire yet the Lord saved them. The book of Daniel also teaches us how God saved Daniel in the Lion’s Den. Don’t you trust God that much to save you in times of trouble?
Have you all of a suddenly forgotten this part of the Bible: “I will condemn those who turn away from me and put their trust in human beings, in the strength of mortals. They are like bushes in the desert, which grow in the dry wilderness, on salty ground where nothing else grows” – Jeremiah 17: 5-6.
Don’t get me wrong, pastor. I’m not against you. I’m not attacking you. But I’m only interrogating what you teach us at Church and what is in the Bible. You seem to have entrusted your life in the hands of bodyguards, who are humans and that is what the Lord abhors.
Your flocks don’t have bodyguards, yet we sleep soundly. You are closer to God than us, but we seem to believe in God more to protect us than you. Pastor, I need an answer to my question – Why do you have a bodyguard? Don’t get me wrong. I’m not speaking against thy anointed one.
Pastor please drop your bodyguards and trust in the protection of the Lord, he is the omnipotent, the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. With him all things are possible. May the Lord be with you.
