NPP behaving like there is no heaven – Kwaku Boahen

Deputy National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress [NDC] Kwaku Boahen says the Akufo Addo led government is taking Ghanaians for granted and need to be shown the exit.

According to him, the alleged bloated list of a 21-member delegation that accompanied Vice President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia to a conference in Geneva is a clear case of looting the public purse.

“The NPP we see now have failed to put the fear of God in members and have chosen to be corrupt and loot the public purse. They are behaving as though there is no heaven just so they get the chance to continue stealing,” he said on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam Friday.

He said the NDC would not grant NPP the chance to lead Ghana beyond 2020 because the thievery was becoming too much.

The revelation of a list of 21 delegates that accompanied the Veep Bawumia to a United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNTACD) in Geneva, Switzerland in 2017 has triggered public outroar.

Not even an explanation by Dr Gideon Boako, spokesperson to the Vice President that the list was in line with protocol arrangements for the office of the Vice President has gone down well with the public.

Mr Boahen has accused Dr Bawumia of draining the public purse adding that taking a valet along was unnecessary and needless duplication.

According to Kwaku Boahen, he never dreamt of Ghana’s challenges becoming so high under President Akufo-Addo, because he expected him to give citizens better lives as he bragged about during his campaign days.
