Nima Divisional Headquarters Police Commander Applauds Afro-Arab Group
The Divisional Headquarters Police Commander of Nima District Police Headquarters Chief Superintendent Eric Asiedu has applauded the Afro-Arab Group of Companies and its Founder Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu for extending their philanthropic gesture to the Nima Police Station.
The Afro-Arab Group led by Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu together with some traditional leaders from the Ayawaso East Municipality on Monday 30th January cut sod to construct an ultra-modern waiting room for the Nima Police Station.
“We are grateful to the Afro-Arab Group and Ambassador Alhaji Salam Amadu for this project. As Oliver Twist, we will always ask for more from you tor progressive development of our community,” said Chief Suprietendent Eric Aseidu.
According to him, the Afro-Arab Group and its founder have set the pace everyone should emulate.
“Indeed he has demonstrated good leadership and has set a pace for everyone to emulate. If we get two people of his kind our communities will be developed vigorously”, he added
Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu, the Founder and CEO of the Afro-Arab Group Companies in an interview after the sod-cutting to officially commence the project noted that the project is part of the Afro-Arab Group’s corporate Society Responsibility.
“I was born and bred in this community so if Allah has blessed me by enabling me to establish a business in this community. it is time for me to give back to my community, Insha Allah we can build Nima if we unite as youth,” he said.
The Group CEO added that the Afro-Arab Group is constructing the facility for the Nima Police Command for people who engage the office at the Police Station to lodge complaints can wait while others are attended to by the officers.
He also described the gesture as a shared responsibility between citizens and the state and also commended the officers at the Nima Police station for continuously providing security for Nima residents over the years.
He, however, appealed to the youth to give the police the necessary assistance and corporation to enable them to discharge their duties effectively as expected.
He stated that despite the difficult challenges businesses sometimes face, his outfit will not relent in its efforts towards providing support to people in society whenever the need arises citing some examples of some projects embarked upon by the CSR arm of Afro-Arab Group in the past.
The Ayawaso East Zongo Chief who serves as the Acting Chairman of the Ayawaso Council of Zongo Chiefs, Seidu Louis, on his part commended the Afro-Arab Group and Ambassador Alhaji Salamu Amadu for their unflinching support to the Zongo Communities and appealed to other businessmen and women to emulate their philanthropic gesture.
The engineer in charge, Mr. Cephas Forfoe, also added that the project is expected to house about 30 people who visit the Police station daily but were faced with difficulty in getting a waiting place for themselves.
He said the facility is expected to be completed within the shortest possible time and will replace an old waiting area which is in a poor state and could not serve scores of people who sought the services of the Nima Police daily.
Present at the short ceremony for the commencement of the project include officers from the Ghana Police Service, Traditional Leaders from the Ayawaso East and Staff from the Afro-Arab Group.
