The general secretary of the National Democratic Congress Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said he is having spiritual attack since NDC lost the 7 December general elections.

In an interview with accra based radio station 3fm, he said

About 12 years ago, i began doubting my ability to be a good husband to my wife and childrens. There were no family problems or marital discord to provoke such thoughts, yet the feeling remained with me relentlessly.

“I was very new in my spiritual journey,” Asiedu said. “And, looking back now, I see that Satan was trying to brainwash me [by planting those thoughts in my head], and he was right. There was another, better Christian woman to take care of my family: It was me — I just had to keep growing in my faith.”

When asked what in his opinion contributed to the loss of the NDC, Asiedu Nketia answered saying “I think there was a system failure,” insisting that the NDC had a “solid campaign strategy.”

“We lost the elections way before the 7th of December. We persistently and unrepentantly stayed on the slippery slope to the humiliating defeat despite the several warning lights right in our faces. My honest wish was for corrective measures to be taken to avert this electoral disaster”.
