Mahama mourns his ‘friend’ JB Danquah

President John Dramani Mahama has said he was shocked by the death of his friend and Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.

President Mahama in a tweet said he “received news of my friend Hon. J.B. Danquah-Adu’s murder with shock. My heart goes out to his siblings, Frank etc, his wife & children.”

Joseph Boakye Adu-Danquah was stabbed to death on Tuesday by unknown assailants at his premises at Shiashi in Accra.

Several tributes continue to pour in for the late MP.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor described JB Danquah as a “political gem” in the country’s political terrain.

“I am so shocked by the sad story. I am very saddened by what has happened today and my heart goes out to the people and the bereaved family and all,” he said.

Parliament on Tuesday also adjourned sitting to commiserate with the family of the late MP. Parliamentarians before the move, paid tribute to JB Danquah and also held a one minute silence for their departed colleague.
