Players of defending Ghana Premier League Champions were attacked by armed men on Saturday, just hours before their match against rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, reports indicate.
The attack is reported to have taken place at the Tadoma hotel in Achimota where the team is based ahead of the game.
Some players and officials of the club are believed to have been assaulted in the attack although it is unclear if any of them sustained serious injuries.
The robbers also made away with the valuables of the players and officials. The club is yet to release a statement on the incident but it is expected to do so in the coming hours.
There has been no word as yet on the status of the assailants but there are indications that they got away before they could be arrested.
