PHOTOS: Akyem Tafo mourns J.B. Danquah a week after gruesome murder

The Eastern Regional town of Akyem Old Tafo was on Tuesday thrown into a state of mourning one week after the gruesome murder of the Member of Parliament for the Abuakwa North constituency, Mr Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu.

Women, children and men clad in red clothes were seen weeping when Graphic Online visited the town.

A number of people were also seen in small groups discussing what had befallen Mr. Danquah-Adu.

The occasion was the one–week funeral observation of the death of the Member of Parliament fpr the area.

The observation attracted a large number of people including supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress.

The delegation of the NPP was led by it’s regional vice chairman Alhaji Umar Bodinga, who broke down with tears when he was about to pay tribute to the late MP who was allegedly killed by a 19-year-old, Daniel Asiedu,

The MP died following multiple stabbings by Asiedu in his bedroom at Shiashie in Accra.

Some of the mourners speaking to Graphic Online appealed to the security agencies to dig deep and bring all those involved in the gruesome murder of the MP to book.

For his part Alhaji Bodinga recalled the contributions of the late MP to both the constituency and at the regional level.

He described the late MP as an asset to the NPP whose life was taken away under unfortunate circumstances.
