Kotoka Airport staff arrested for stealing 10 smartphones from passengers

A staff of the Ground Handling Company at the Kotoka International Airport has been arrested for allegedly stealing 10 smartphones from an aircraft.

In a statement confirming the arrest of the man which went viral on social media yesterday, the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) said the incident occurred on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.

The man was seen in the video removing the stolen items believed to be iPhones from his socks and the sides of his shoes.

The worker in the video shamefully brought out all the things he had stolen that day was subjected to more search as people gathered around felt he had hidden more goods somewhere else apart from his shoes.

Some security personnel at the airport appeared to have finally caught the person taking items from passengers and from packages and decided to video him for all to see.

There have been numerous complaints by travellers about how their luggage gets tampered with upon their arrival at the airport and this new development proves why.
