President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said his government’s vision is not to create public sector jobs, but to empower the private sector to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth in the country.
According to him, there are not enough jobs in the public sector to solve unemployment, therefore, his government will create a thriving economy built on the enterprise and energies of the Ghanaian in the private sector to help create jobs.
“Two, we came not to create jobs in the state; we came to create jobs in the private sector. That is our mantra. That is our vision. We will leave the creating of state jobs to the socialists who want everything to be dominated by the state. That is not our vision for Ghana, our vision for Ghana is about a thriving economy built on the enterprise and the energy and the initiatives of the Ghanaian private sector [that is] the Ghanaian people.”
On his part, Vice President Dr Mahamamu Bawumia said Ghanaians replaced “incompetence with competence” in last year’s polls as far as Ghana’s economic management is concerned.
According to him, Nana Akufo-Addo has assembled a team of competent men and women who are bringing the economy back onto the right path.
“President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP promised the nation that our government will transform the economy by ensuring that we replace incompetence with competence in the management of the economy,” he said, adding that, “I must say without any fear of contradiction that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has indeed replaced incompetence with competence in the management of our economy.”
