President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Glasgow, Scotland on a working visit.
The President is accompanied by the First Lady, Lordina Mahama.
Other members of the delegation include the Foreign Minister, Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Communications, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and the Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman.
The University of Aberdeen in the UK will on Friday hold a Special convocation to confer on President Mahama, an honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.
He will also meet with the First Minister of Scotland and visit the Scottish Parliament where he will observe First Minister’s Question Time and address Parliamentarians.
As part of his schedule, President Mahama will meet with the Ghanaian community and address a Business Forum.
President Mahama will be the second Ghanaian leader after former President Jerry John Rawlings to visit Scotland.
Meanwhile, the Chief Justice, Mrs Georgina Theodora Wood in accordance with article 60(11) of the constitution was on Wednesday, March 16 2016, in Parliament to administer the presidential oath to the Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho as acting president of Ghana following the absence of President Mahama and his Vice President, Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah Arthur who is also on an official visit to the Republic of India.
