Five persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman, Ekow Quansah Hayford.
According to the police, “they suspects are being taken through lawful police procedures.”
Although details of the five suspects remain scanty, available information indicates that there is a manhunt for other suspects in connection with the crime.
In a post on social media sighted by Daily View Gh, the Ghana Police Service said, those arrested are being taken through lawful police procedures.
Sources also say the suspects were picked up by investigators from the Central Regional Police Command from their hideouts in some communities within the region.
Police have said more information on the arrests will be provided later.
The 49-year-old MP was shot and killed by a gang of gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on the dawn of October 9, 2020.
The MP who was seeking re-election was returning from campaign duties with his team when the incident occurred.
