General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that his party will not steal manifesto ideas from the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Describing the NPP as “losers”, Johnson Asiedu Nketia indicated that his party rather acts as pacesetters for others.

“We are already a winning party and will not steal ideas from losers. We all know that the NPP are losers and we rather set the pace for them and not the other way round. Our ideas have already been established” he stated.

There have been criticisms from various quarters over the delay in the release of manifestos by the two major political parties

The New Patriotic Party has often explained that they were delaying because they did not want the NDC to copy portions of their campaign document into their manifesto.

But NDC’s scribe insisted that the party is not scared that its main opponents would steal ideas from its manifesto, adding that if the polls were held in November, instead of the usual December 7, the NDC would still have won.

Asiedu Nketiah said because of the expansion of the party’s electoral college they are certain of winning in the coming election.

Meanwhile, President Mahama will today (Tuesday) present to a cross-section of Ghanaians, the highlights of the NDC Manifesto for 2016.
