The Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Deputy Commissioner of Police, Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah, has denied rescuing 8 kidnapped kids in Takoradi.

In a chat on Ghana Police Watch, Mrs. Tiwaa, said there is nothing like that. She stated that at any rate nobody has reported any missing children. Somebody just wanted to create fear and panic.

DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa stated that, the police will tell its full story when they get the girls but for now, the police will not put out a lot of information since it can affect their operations.

“They should have confidence in the Ghana Police Service, we are doing our best and let me also say that while the police service is doing its best to ensure that security is at the highest level, we must also be conscious of our own personal security,” she advised.

Over the week many news media platform has reported a news Over 100 residents of Ahenkofi, a suburb of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, on Sunday besieged the Evergreen Hotel over suspicion that some Nigerians alleged to be kidnappers were hiding there.

Residents in Takoradi have been tense in recent months following the kidnapping of eight teenage girls in the regional capital.
