The Former Eastern Communications Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. David Prah, has praised the Vice President and Presidential Candidate for the New Patriotic Party, H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for revitalizing Ghanaian politics by introducing bold and progressive policies aimed at the development of the nation.
Mr. Prah’s remarks come in response to what he described as recent “unguided statements” and attacks by Former President John Dramani Mahama, the perennial Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). According to Mr. Prah, in a viral video circulating from one of his campaign tours, Mr. Mahama insulted Chiefs, Pastors, Imams, and other Traditional Leaders.
He emphasized that the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government has made significant strides in various sectors and therefore deserves to be re-elected to continue implementing policies that will improve the quality of life for Ghanaians. Mr. Prah lauded Dr. Bawumia for his role in the administration’s accomplishments, listing several key achievements:
The creation of over 2.1 million jobs in the past seven years.
Implementation of the Free Senior High School policy, covering fees, textbooks, uniforms, and admission fees for 1.4 million students across all 16 regions, easing the burden on parents.
Implementation of Free TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) for all 16 regions.
Restoration of Teacher and Nursing Trainees’ Allowances.
A reduction in the cedi’s rate of depreciation compared to the NDC’s tenure.
Doubling growth in the agricultural sector compared to the Mahama administration.
Construction of more roads, interchanges, and railways than any government since independence.
Expansion of airports and internet coverage on a national scale.
Introduction of Mobile Money Interoperability, making Ghana the first in Africa to achieve interoperability between mobile wallets and bank accounts.
Implementation of a paperless system at the ports.
Introduction of drones for the delivery of medical supplies.
Development of the National Identification Card System.
Establishment of the National Digital Address System.
Construction of more AstroTurf pitches for sports development than any previous government.
Building more libraries than any other government since independence.
Launching of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO).
Implementation of the “One Teacher, One Laptop” initiative.
Launching the “One Constituency, One Ambulance” initiative.
Implementation of the “One District, One Factory” initiative.
Digitization of the Passport Office.
Introduction of a “No Guarantor Required” scheme for student loans.
Construction of more classrooms than any government in the Fourth Republic.
Mr. Prah contrasted these accomplishments with what he described as the “incompetence” of the NDC and its leader, John Dramani Mahama.
He accused Mr. Mahama of running a campaign based on insults, targeting Ghanaians, Chiefs, Pastors, Imams, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and Traditional Religious Leaders, rather than offering solutions.
He called on all well-meaning Ghanaians to support H. E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections to ensure the continuation of these policies and the introduction of new ones that will propel the country towards unprecedented growth.
