Charles Martey Korley, a suspected armed robber, Wednesday, brought proceedings in Accra Circuit Court One to an abrupt end when he defecated on himself.

The act, which many saw as deliberate, held up proceedings until 2pm when DAILY GUIDE was leaving the court premises.

Prosecutors, lawyers, litigants and other court officials were driven out of the premises by the pungent smell.

Curious spectators, who wanted to catch a glimpse of the bizarre spectacle, covered their noses as they peeped at the accused person.

Charles had been hauled before the court for allegedly robbing the complainant the sum of GH¢13,432 at the Arts Centre in Accra on November 15, this year.

But on reaching the court, presided over by Aboagye Tandoh, Charles started talking and making noise, compelling the judge to order the investigator to send him out until his case was called.

At the entrance of the court, Charles Martey Korley, who was in handcuffs, eased himself and managed to smear his body with it.

Hours later, Charles, who spat on the prosecutor, was whisked away in a police pickup and was expected to be brought back to the court today for his plea to be taken in respect of the robbery charge.
