The Kwesi Botchwey committee investigating the cause of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) defeat in the 2016 election has called on members and supporters of the party to desist from airing their grievances.

In a statement signed and issued on Friday by Mr Botchwey, Chairman of the Election Review Committee said they have noted with “some regret that a number of Party functionaries and leading party members have lately taken to the media houses to air their views on party matters, including matters that the committee was set up to investigate.

It said the committee would like to urge all members to resist the temptation of engage in recrimination and finger pointing, so as not to undermine the integrity of the committee’s final report and recommendations, or sour the atmosphere for the conduct of the committee work.

It said: “the committee’s doors are open and we urge all party members who have issues to raise or concerns to express to direct them to the committee to help the search for solutions to express to direct them to the committee to help the search for solution to the challenges confronting the party.

Member of Parliament for Yunyoo in the Northern Region, Mr Joseph Bipoba Naabu; Deputy General Secretary, Mr Koku Anyidoho; Former National Chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei, and Former National Organiser, Mr Yaw Boateng Gyan, are but a few of the leaders who have granted separate media interviews expressing divergent views as to the cause  of the party’s defeat in the 2016 election.
