Starring in Idris Elba’s ‘Beast of Nation’ has not changed me; I’m still Abraham Attah

Young Ghanaian movie star Abraham Attah is refusing to let fame get into his head. He says he is planning on living the life he lived before fame found him.

Even after the huge exposure starring in the Hollywood movie, ‘Beats of No Nation’ has given him, 14-year-old Attah says he hasn’t changed and won’t change.

The award winning actor in an exclusive interview on Drive Time on Joy FM Thursday, says he will still hang out with his regular friends like he used to before the movie.

“I’m still Abraham, I’m not like a big person. I’m still their friend that they know for a long time. I am going to still be Abraham,” he said.

Abraham won the Marcello Mastroianni’s Best Young Actor Award at the 2015 Venice Film Festival for his lead performance in the ‘Beasts of No Nation’ movie alongside Idris Elba.

The Ashiaman-based young actor, who played the role of a child soldier, returned to Ghana Wednesday night after meeting some of the biggest names in movies in Hollywood in the United States.

The impressive list of acts he met during his stay in the United States included Will Smith and The Hunger Games star, Elizabeth Banks.

Already the young actor has a lot of upcoming projects on his plate. He has joined the ensemble cast of Shane Carruth’s third film, ‘The Modern Ocean’.

He says he is currently back in Ghana to catch up on his education and spend time with his family.
