Accra Giants emerged as winners of the maiden 2018 Binatone Skate Soccer Challenge Cup held at the Tennis Court at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Four teams competed in this tournament namely winners Accra Giants, Ashanti Warriors, Western Tigers and Zongo Lions.
The competition organised by IFFS with support from Binatone was also a preparation for players of the national team ‘Rolling Rockets’ ahead of the Binatone Skate Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which comes off in March, 2018.
Winners Accra Giants defeated Western Tigers by 5-1 to book a place in the final. Runners up Ashanti Warriors beat Zongo Lions by a lone to progress to the final.
The final game was electrifying with wonderful performances and display from Accra Giants led by their tailisman and captain Gariba who scored a hat-trick on the day.
Western Tigers defeated Zongo Lions in third and fourth place game to pick up that spot.
It was a packed venue at the Tennis Court which saw dignitaries such as the India High Commissioner to Ghana, Board chairman of the National Sports Authority, Kojo Baah Agyemang, Mr Albert Frimpong,CEO of IFSS,Mr.Sunil Lalvani,the President of IFSS, Mr.Sunil Lalvani,Group MD of Binatone, Mr.Venu Babu,MD of Binatone Ghana Olympic Committee President Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah, other officials from Binatone as well as other dignitaries gracing the ocassion.
