We have sharpened our cutlasses,we will cut down NPP supporters if… – NDC man

An NDC communicator, Robert Owusu, has sworn he and others will not hesitate to cut down NPP supporters if they dare foment trouble ahead of the 2016 general elections.

We have sharpened our cutlasses, we will cut down NPP supporters, the former NDC Youth Organiser for the Fomena constituency vowed on Kumasi-based Boss FM.

Robert was expressing strong emotions at the NPP’s insistence on a new voter’s register. The Electoral Commission has rejected the demand based on recommendations of a 5-member panel.

The NPP has however vowed to push through its call for electoral reform insisting the register is not credible and cannot confer legitimacy on the winner of the 2016 general elections slated for November 7.

Robert argued the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is not averse to ideas on electoral reforms. He said in the past, the party in 1996, welcomed the NPP’s idea to have photo ID cards replace a non-photo ID used in 1992.

So if you raised a suggestion and the Electoral Commission sets up a committee which comes out to reject the idea, why don’t you want to accept the decision? he asked.

Is Ghana for you alone?, Robert charged, condemning the NPP’s intransigent stance.

In 2016, if this is how things are going to go, then maybe only 10 people will vote, he said.

The Criminal Investigations Department yesterday sent a written request to the management of Boss FM for the audio for investigations.

As the elections draw near, such intemperate language is expected to dominate radio discussions in the country.

On Thursday, an NPP Communicator was reported to have bitten an NDC communicator during a heated political discussion on a radio station in the Northern Regional Capital, Tamale.
