The future of grassroots football kicked off with energy and innovation as Rondo organizers hosted a colorful launch event for their new football development program.

Eight dynamic teams — Golden Amaris FC, Dansoman Imperials FC, Otintor FC, Yaro Eleven FC, Happy Stars FC, Dansoman Magic Stars FC, Emrys’ FC, and Accra Rockets Academy — gathered to take part in the showcase games and experience the next big move in youth football development.

The day began with a strategic meeting between Rondo organizers and the team coaches. Organizers shared their bold vision of blending football with technology to reshape grassroots player development.

“Our focus is simple but powerful,” a Rondo official said. “We want to use data to truly understand and grow the potential of young players. By documenting these games and analyzing performances, we’ll give teams, scouts, and coaches a whole new way to spot and nurture talent.”

After the briefing, teams thrilled spectators with a lively procession before the official kickoff ceremony. The matches kicked off with Accra Rockets Academy leading the action.

Rather than a typical tournament, the matches were showcase games designed for fun, skill display, and — most importantly — for testing Rondo’s breakthrough Performance Metrics Technology.

Each match featured eight outfield players plus a goalkeeper, with a 50-minute game duration, allowing players to freely express their skills.

The highlight of the event was the first public test of Rondo’s Performance Metrics Technology, a new system that tracks and analyzes player performances in real time. Still in its testing phase, the system aims to boost efficiency and accuracy in grassroots football scouting.

“We are currently refining the system to be even more effective,” said a Rondo representative. “Our next steps include launching a full digital platform and integrating voice-to-text features to make data recording faster and more intuitive.”

Adding further excitement to the event, several football legends and coaches came to support the young stars. Guests included renowned Coach Thompson, Goalkeeping Coach Goaumane, and ex-Black Stars players Emmanuel Armah and Samuel Johnson, who inspired the players with their presence and encouragement.

The Rondo launch event was a glimpse into a bold new future for Ghana’s grassroots football — one where technology, data, and talent come together to create the next generation of football heroes.

With more matches, deeper data analysis, and greater scouting opportunities on the horizon, the Rondo organizers are ready to lead a true revolution in the way young talents are discovered and developed.
