The 2016 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo took his campaign to a number of churches in the Takoradi and Effia constituencies yesterday with a plea to the congregations to give him the opportunity to lead the country.
“I am pleading with you to try me also, so I can show you what I can do for this country and I promise I will never let you down,” he told the Christians on the first Sunday of Lent.
On his campaign to win the confidence of the electorate during the first leg of his four-day tour of the Western Region, Nana Akufo-Addo asked churches to pray for Mr. J.B. Danquah-Adu, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa North, who was murdered last Tuesday, and Mr. Ben Kwaw, the late acting chairman of the party in the region.
“I am asking you to pray for me too. Pray to God so He grants me strength, courage, wisdom and a compassionate heart to be a good leader. In this election year, I am asking for your support for me and the NPP. I am pleading with you to try me also, so I can show you what I can do for this country and I promise you I will never let you down,” he said.
