The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Nana Akuffo Addo has asked Ghanaians to pray for the Electoral Commission (EC) as pressure mounts on the Commission to deliver credible elections.

Some political parties and influential civil society groups claims the EC is not prepared for the November polls because of the number of duties it has to perform ahead of the elections.

The EC has been asked directed by the Supreme Court to clean the register before the polls but Nana Addo says in the face of the daunting task ahead, Ghanaians must pray for the commission.

“I totally support the prayers that we said for peace in Ghana but I will also plead that we pray and commit the Electoral Commission into the hands of God through prayer so that they will do their job in a transparent and open manner that will not bring about any chaos so that after the election whoever wins or loses will accept it in good faith. This will ensure that we have peace in the country.”

United Ghana

Nana Addo also admonished Ghanaians to remain united ahead of  the 2016 general elections.

According to him, the nation can overcome any impediment in the November election if citizens remains united.

Nana Akufo-Addo said this when he worshipped with congregants of the Church of Pentecost, Kaneshie Assembly on Sunday which also marks the Christian holy day of Pentecost.
