Police in Weija in the Greater Accra region has arrested more than 40 prostitutes including teenagers and their male clients in a swoop at a location noted for criminal activities.
The swoop which was led by Chief Inspector Diana Tei Enningful saw the team visit particular notorious pubs in the area, particularly an area called Choice.
The raid according to Chief Inspector Diana Enningful was necessitated by incessant reports of armed robbery attacks and other criminal activities from residents who say the area has been turned into a haven for prostitutes, armed robbers and drug peddlers among others.
Armed with the information and complaints, the police according to her laid ambush and surveillance leading to the arrest of the prostitutes and their clients.
She explained that most of the prostitutes were Nigerians aged between 18 and 25 years.
