Police in Mumias have arrested a man who has been dressing up as a female prostitute and allegedly stealing from men in bars.
The man, who referred to himself as ‘Grace’, was arrested after he was seduced by a man in a local bar in the area, who proceeded to book a room at a lodging where he discovered that he was not a woman.
Eyewitnesses told Citizen Digital that Grace had worn a wig and make up and walked with a woman’s gait while at the bar, apparently fooling patrons into believing he was a woman.
Mumias OCPD Farah Mohammed said the man had sought safety from the police station after a mob baying for his blood wanted to lynch him.
Mohammed however said that Grace would be set free because the complainant has not come forward to record a statement at the station.
Residents, however, said that Grace is part of a gang of men who con unsuspecting patrons at bars by pretending to be women.
