Ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas today appeared before the five member committee chaired by Supreme Court Justice, her ladyship Justice Sophia Akuffo hearing impeachment proceedings against 7 High court judges in the judicial corruption scandal.
Anas as has been the trend in recent times proceeded to the committee with two other investigators with his Tiger PI investigative team, dressed in similar clothing with hoods covering their heads.
Kasapa FM’s Court reporter, Daakyehene Ofosu Agyemang reported Anas and his team spent over two hours being interrogated by the committee, he however noted that both lawyers and the indicted Judges were absent from court today.
The implicated judges who were seen in a video allegedly taking bribes to compromise justice in cases before them were suspended by the President on the advice of the judicial council.
Their suspension comes after the establishment of a prima facie case against them after a committee set up to investigate a petition from Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI group for the 12 Justices to be removed from office.
Some 34 judges and magistrates and over 140 judicial staff were captured on video taking bribes to influence cases before their courts.
