President John Dramani Mahama commissioned the new Cape Coast Stadium on Tuesday for official use.
The stadium, which sits 16,000 people, was constructed by Chinese firm Jiang Xi International Corporation and was fully financed by the Chinese government.

Construction was completed earlier this year and following its official opening, the ground will now be available to the general public.
President Mahama opened the ground with Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Sun Baohong.
The stadium has a tennis court, a gymnasium, an eight-lane running track, two basketball courts, handball courts, halls for table tennis and accommodation for athletes.
After the commissioning, the President was taken round the facility and he even helped himself to a game of table tennis.
Already, the ground has been chosen to host the 2016 MTN FA Cup final and there are some indications that the 2017 AFCON qualifier between Ghana and Rwanda in September will be played there.
