For fear of the unknown, some commuters and residents who were caught up in today’s rains at the Nkrumah Circle took to the overpass under construction to seek refuge.
Remnants of the past left residents, and hawkers around Circle in the capital with no option than to seek shelter at where they believe is the safest, many metres away from the Nkrumah Circle’s twin disaster spot.
Friday’s downpour comes months after Ghana’s worst ever disaster, June 3 disaster perished the lives of close to 200 persons.
Some parts of Accra have been overwhelmed with flooding after almost three hours of rains in Accra, Friday.
The odawna is full to the brim,Daily View Gh News reports.
The rains affected vehicular traffic in some parts of the capital, particularly the Nkrumah Circle, Kaneshie and others.
The main stretch from Pokuase-Accra this morning experienced heavy vehicular traffic as well.
The situation obviously has affected productivity today as people on the way to their various workplaces spent several man-hours in huge traffic jams.
