Black Stars Head Coach Kwesi Appiah has called up twenty-three players for the final Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier with Egypt next month.

Appiah has decided to retain the squad which impressed greatly in the penultimate qualifier against Uganda as well as the friendly with Saudi Arabia early this month.

Jordan Ayew

And there is no place for Andre and his brother Jordan Ayew. The duo have been left out again by Kwesi Appiah after he refused to invite them for the last two matches.

West Ham ace Andre Ayew has hit top form in recent days, scoring three goals in his last two games for the Hammers.

But Mubarak Wakaso has returned to coach Appiah’s set up for the first time since the Black Stars manager took over from Avram Grant early this year. Wakaso last played for Ghana at the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Also returning in skipper Asamoah Gyan, Harrison Afful, Christian Atsu and Majeed Waris. The quartet did not make the trip to Uganda.

Atletico Madrid star midfielder Thomas Partey has been suspended for the match due to accumulated yellow cards.

Belgium-based midfielder Nana Ampomah and Nasiru Mohammed, who plies his trade in Sweden, have been handed a maiden call-up.

Ghana will face the Pharaohs in Cape Coast on November 12, 2017, in a match which Kwesi Appiah is expected to use to further assess the development of the team, as Egypt have already secured the sole ticket to Russia from the group.
