The Presidential Candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has suspended his campaign and his scheduled speech to the nation following the death of his 2012 running mate Eva Lokko.
Ms.Lokko passed away at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday October 6, where she had been receiving treatment after she had taken ill.
Dr Nduom’s speech to the nation was expected to focus on “creating a just and disciplined society, providing employment opportunity for all, delivering quality education for every Ghanaian child from KG – SHS”.
In a tribute to Madam Lokko, Dr Nduom said: “Eva and I had promised each other not too long ago to put our health and personal lives before politics,” adding that “there is more to life than politics”.
It is not clear how long Dr Nduom’s break will last as other political parties have intensified their campaigns with two months to the December 7, elections.
