President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has directed the Inspector General of Police to provide a 24-hour protection for Mr Martin Amidu.
It follows claims of threats made against Mr. Amidu after he stepped down from his office earlier this week.
According to the former Special Prosecutor, threats of harm and death towards him have been reported to the National Security Minister.
Amidu also stressed that the President should be held responsible if anything happens to him.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Mr Eugene Arhin disclosed President Akufo-Addo’s directive Thursday night.
