The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) is a Government agency that is responsible for management of disasters, responding to emergency situations and educating the general public on how to live harmoniously and be cautious about disasters.
The board operates under the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Ghana. As a matter fact, NADMO is one of the critical agencies responsible for peace and safe environment.
It is barely a fortnight for Ghanaians to elect Parliamentarians and president to govern the nation in the next four years.
According to NADMO Act 2016 (Act 927) which has given them a rounded paradigm shift to be more proactive than being reactive on disaster management, the Director General, Hon Nana Agyemang Prempeh and the board have put up some befitting measures ahead of the December 7th Elections.
A facilitator, Mr Bright Elorm Doviavu who spoke on behalf of the Director General, indicated that NADMO and its stakeholders are fully preparing in managing any possible humanitarian cataclysm which may emanate from any polling station as the police service has declared some centres as critical hot spots.
Mr Bright Elorm Doviavu added that, the Director General, Hon Nana Agyemang Prempeh is appealing to every tom, dick and harry to preach peace and assist to ensure as flat as a pancake implementation of laid down protocols which are imperative to maintain peace as the president of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been talking about peace. NADMO is ready for any quandary during the elections.
He called on the general public to keep on obeying all the Coronavirus Pandemic protocols ahead of the polls.
The Director General appealed to the United Nations (UN) to assist the Organisation about their preparedness towards both Parliamentary and the presidential elections.
The Ahafo Regional nadmo Director, Mr Collins Osei Bonsu and the entire Ahafo REGSEC are in full support.
