My ‘mouth’ is giving me problems – Kennedy Agyapong

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central Hon Kennedy Agyapong has revealed “his mouth” is giving him problems, making it difficult for him to access some of the little privileges that come with his party being in power.

Daily View Gh had earlier reported how Mr. Kennedy Agyapong endeared himself to the grassroots of the ruling NPP by being a ‘lone’ and ‘loud’ voice of dissent, being one of the fiercest critics of the government he helped bring to power.

The lawmaker had leveled wild allegations against some unnamed presidential staffers indicating that they demanded a minimum of $20,000 from persons seeking to see the president before allowing them, a comment that has been widely criticized by the party.

He alleged impropriety in the award of some contracts at the National Identification Authority; he openly questioned the number of jobs created under the Agric ministry, indicating that a job that pays 400 GHC for a graduate is no job, among many others.

It appears all these are causing problems for the vociferous lawmaker who is loved by the party’s grassroots for his frankness.

In an interview yesterday monitored by Daily View Gh, the daring and firebrand lawmaker said as an MP with some good clout in the affairs of the ruling party, he struggles every day with vehicular traffic headaches, without ‘siren’ protocol to beat traffic.

He, however, expressed amazement that NPP members who condemned appointees of the erstwhile NDC for using car sirens to beat traffic were doing the very thing they condemned the NDC for.

He said, for him, he knows the reason for his traffic struggles is his “mouth”, he said in Twi.

“NPP big men and women who were condemning NDC over traffic sirens, today they are all over the place with sirens disturbing Ghana. Now they are enjoying it… But for me, me- Kennedy Agyapong, every day, I am in traffic. I am in traffic! Because of my mouth! Yes, Because of my mouth”, the say-it-as-it-is lawmaker said.

I won’t comment on NPP again

We earlier reported how Mr. Agyapong had said he resolved not to comment further on any development in the ruling party because he has been branded ‘loud-mouthed.

“They have criticized my style of speaking about development in the party. What is going on is that they say I have a big mouth so should shut up but what I say is helpful. So I will be one of the finest gentlemen henceforth and enjoy life”, he stated on Adom TV in August 2017 as we reported.

“They have criticized my style of speaking about development in the party. What is going on is that they say I have a big mouth so should shut up but what I say is helpful. So I will be one of the finest gentlemen henceforth and enjoy life”, he then added.

According to him, the President may not be aware of whatever may be going on around him and there was the need to for him to be given the true picture events at all times. He cited instances where similar acts in the past administration propelled the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into opposition.

“Ghanaians have hope in us if we will sit down and allow small small boys to mess us up then we shall follow suit”, he had warned.
