The National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), has elected as its Treasurer Mr Seth Oduro Boadu, the Lower West Akim Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Region (MCE) at the end of its 20th biennial national delegates conference held in Sunyani.
He polled 649 votes out the 1,252 total valid votes cast to beat his sole contestants, Mrs. Adwoa Amoako – 271 votes and Sheriff A. Fathah – 330 votes.
Mr Seth Oduro Boadu in his speech said, I would like to thank Hon. Assembly Members, Hon. Presiding Members ,Hon. MMDCEs, my family and friends, as well as my campaign team for your unending love and support.
I am both humbled and honoured that you have placed your confidence and support in me by electing me as the National Treasurer for our great Association NALAG. I feel blessed as I begin this new era and I assure you that Hon. Seth Oduro Boadu will always endeavor to reflect the utmost compassion, honesty and integrity.
The overwhelming endorsement from electorates in all the 16 Regions is a testimony of the enormity of the task ahead of us and with your prayers and continuous support, we will together change the fortunes of NALAG for the benefit of all members.
Most thanks however goes to the Almighty God who favoured me with this victory, it is with Him that I will continue to serve the Members of NALAG. he stated.
The peaceful election was supervised by a team of electoral officials from the Brong-Ahafo Regional office of the Electoral Commission (EC).
