He might have made history by having sex with a dog. A former carnival worker in Alabama who allegedly defiled with his dog four times is now the first bestiality suspect in his county under a new state law criminalizing such acts, AL.com reported.
Russell Joseph Meyers, 54, got caught violating his German shepherd after he accidentally called someone during the act and their sex was recorded on the person’s voicemail, police said.
He admitted the sex acts to police after they arrived, and also got charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after cops raided the shed he was living in.
Meyers had a second dog, a tiny Chihuahua, but only had sex with his German shepherd, police said. Meyers is being held in Franklin County Jail on $6,000 bond, and is not allowed to have any contact with animals if he pays out, WAFF reported.
He was charged under a state law that went into effect last July, which makes bestilaity a Class A misdemeanor.
“It’s scary that it’s had to go on more than we know for them to make it a law,” Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver told AL.com about the law. Under the law, Meyers would have to register as a sex offender if convicted.
