A founder member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has insisted that President John Mahama was not incompetent despite claims from the opposition party that he was.
The former Ghana ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro in an interview on Tuesday on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme described the President as a very intelligent individual, praising him for his humility.
“I don’t think John is incompetent, I don’t think so at all,” Dr Tamakloe said.
“If my party says so, they know what they are saying is not true. If he had been incompetent, this country would have been grounded long ago.”
“He is a very intelligent young man who has tremendous love for this nation and he is so amazing. There are things about that man that amazes me sometimes, It is not every political leader that goes everywhere and is accepted.”
However, Dr Tamakloe denied that his comments were an endorsement of President Mahama’s re-election bid.
