Ali Maradona, the deputy operations manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has appealed to the club’s teeming supporters to remain calm and steadfast despite their poor start to the 2015/2016 Premier League season.
He entreated them to stand solidly behind the playing body, reminding them that their unflinching support was critical at this stage of their history.
Kotoko have so far bagged two points in four games, and occupy the 14th position on the league table, arguably one of their worst starts to the league.
Last Monday, the Board of Directors of the club convened an emergency stakeholders’ meeting at the club’s secretariat in Kumasi to seek solutions to their dwindling fortunes.
Maradona, in an interview with the GNA Sports yesterday, said he was confident Kotoko would soon rediscover their fearsome and conquering form and urged the players to maintain their composure.
Meanwhile, Coach David Duncan has attributed the team’s abysmal performance to the high number of player injuries in the team.
That, he said, had affected the team’s stability and playing style, and gave the assurance that the technical team was working around the clock to fix the problem.
He dismissed reports that the team was under pressure to perform, and urged the supporters not to give in to anxiety.
