Kenpong Aircraft Maintenance Ghana Limited (KAMGL), a subsidiary of the Kenpong Group of Companies has secured a Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) license and a hangar at the Tamale Airport, sources at the Tamale Airport have disclosed.
Per the terms of the agreement with the Ghana government for the license, KAMGL has been officially mandated to repair and maintain aircrafts including jets, helicopters, including boeing and other commercial flights beginning February 2018.
Securing the Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) License makes KAMGL the first company in West Africa with such documentation to serve the Sub-Region.
The repair Center is expected to provide employment opportunities for the youth of Tamale.
The KAMGL MRO is poised to become the third facility of its kind in Africa with similar MRO’s in Ethiopia and South Africa.
