Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew gave new Aston Villa coach, Roberto Di Matteo a dream start to his tenure – scoring twice in an 8-0 demolition of Grazer Athletic Klub (GAK) on Saturday evening in Austria.
Ayew’s strike partner, Libor Kozak scored the third goal in the 19th minute before he fired home another long range effort in the 35th minute to give Villa a 4-0 lead at the halftime break.
He was denied the opportunity to score more goals when Di Matteo substituted his entire starting eleven before the second half.
Substitutes Joe Bennett and Rudy Gestede also scored two goals in the second half for Villa to emerge 8-0 victors.
Ayew who is gearing-up for life in the English second tier (Championship) after Villa were relegated last season has been linked with a move to Galatasaray in the transfer window.
