Akwasi Amanwka Akoto Afrifa, a son of General Akwasi Amankwa Afrifa, reacted to the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
The 73-year-old is said to have died after he contracted Covid-19 and was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.
Rawlings last public appearance was at the funeral rites of his late mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui, about two weeks ago at which event he looked his usual hale and hearty self.
Following the news, Akoto Afrifa whose father was one of the eight army generals who were executed by Rawlings and his Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) in the June 4 Uprising in 1979, has spared no feelings.
General Akwasi was executed together with two other former heads of state, General Kutu Acheampong and General Fred Akuffo, and five other Generals (Utuka, Felli, Boakye, Robert Kotei and Amedume), in June 1979
In a series of posts on social media, General Afrifa’s has expressed joy at the death of the former president.
