President Akufo-Addo says he has been the greatest victim in the domain of irresponsible journalism in a section of the Ghanaian media.
According to him, he had been the target of many irresponsible media publications for a number of years.
He, however, said in spite of the bad nuts among the Ghanaian media, he had never regretted leading the cause to repeal the criminal libel law.
President Akufo-Addo made the remarks during his introductory comments at his maiden ‘Meet the Press’ encounter at the Banquet Hall of the State House in Accra on Tuesday.
He also commended the presidential press corps for their work so far, saying they have worked hard in informing the Ghanaian public about government business and policies since his government took office.
He said the Ghanaian media has enriched the country’s governance by its engagements in investigative and critical reporting on government activities and corrupt practices.
