The immediate past National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei says it is okay Ghanaians entrusted President Akufo-Addo with the state’s highest office at the last polls.
According to him, he is happy Mr. Akufo-Addo has taken over the reins of power now.
In an interaction with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Wednesday, Dr. Kwabena Adjei intimated that the country is in safe hands because the former Attorney General comes with a wealth of experience that will help him rule to the admiration of Ghanaians.
His position is in contrast to the views of several of his comrades within his own party who believe Mr. Akufo-Addo three months into his administration has started exhibiting signs of failure.
Mr. Akufo-Addo was recently flaked for his elephant sized government which has so far packed 110 Ministers, the highest in the history of Ghana.
However, on the back of the changing trends, in global politics, Dr. Kwabena Adjei said it was okay an older person is now President again, since all over the World, in a number of elections held, the older folks were voted into power.
He believes it is crucial to have a blend of the old hands at the helm of affairs, arguing that “You should go with an institutional memory to help your government resist making mistakes, and move forward”
